RPattz + Sean Penn + Reese Witherspoon = Huh?

I’m sure many of you already know of this, but alas! I’m going to post it anyway!

In the latest Robert Pattinson mutterings, he is supposedly up for a role in another book turned movie, Water for Elephants. The New York Times best-selling novel about a circus veterinarian circa The Great Depression is a studio project being helmed by Fox 2000 with a Richard Lagravanese-written script and Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, Constantine) directing.

Reese Witherspoon is already attached to the film, which would put Rob and Reese back on a set together after a 6 year fiesta since the shooting of Vanity Fair. Granted, Rob’s scene was edited out of the final cut of the movie, but still - it happened! Anyway, the studio is trying to woo Sean Penn into the mix, too, but that’s not all that interesting until he says yes…or no.

So! Lovely readers, I haven’t read the book. What say you? Should I pick up a copy before our favorite awkward Brit hits the screen in the film adaptation?
